Perfumes of Antiquity - "Queen Nefertiti"
"Queen Nefertiti" (pronounced Nef-er-tee'-tee) is the first in a series of perfumes created by Fleur de Lis Perfumes which re-create the wonderful natural perfumes made in past eras. We have researched and designed this perfume using the very same ingredients the ancient Egyptians used during the New Kingdom period (approx. 1550-1069 B.C.). This period included the reign of Pharaoh Akhenaten and his beautiful queen, Nefertiti, around 1340 B.C., and a few years later, King Tutankamun.
Aromatic materials are blended and added to a neutral oil base for the perfumed oil. They are added to a natural wax/oil base for a more solid perfume, similar to the unguents used at that time. Some of the same natural essences (including myrrh, cassia, opoponax, and spikenard) are used, producing a warm, spicy fragrance which can be worn by both men and women.
"Queen Nefertiti" Perfume Unguent
Perfumes in solid form are like the unguents used by the ancient Egyptians to protect and perfume their skin. They are blends of natural oils, aromatic spices, woods and resins found in that region. The scent is warm and spicy, smelling faintly of cinnamon and myrrh. The lidded box is 2 1/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall.

Perfumes were valuable essentials to the daily grooming rituals in ancient Egypt. Archaeologists have found magnificent fragrance vessels in royal tombs with traces of these scents still lingering after 3,500 years. Many perfume bottles were made of alabaster and cobalt blue glass, all handmade by artisans of their day. So we have arranged with stone artisans to create beautiful alabaster bottles and jars for our Queen Nefertiti Perfume Oils and Unguent (Solid Perfume). Each perfume and hand-tooled leather presentation box will include the story of the perfume, its place in history, and its creation.

"Queen Nefertiti" Perfume Oils
These oils are made with natural plant oil known to stay fresh for years. (Balanos, moringa, or jojoba oil.) We have blended in the mixture of essential oils to create a seductively perfumed, lightweight
fragrance to be worn by both men and women. The scent is warm and spicy, smelling faintly of cinnamon and myrrh.
